Upgrading a cash advance service chain

PLS is one of the largest check cashing and financial services chains, with over 250
stores throughout the United States.
WHAT WE DID

While the brand is recognized for fast and easy cash services, there were numerous missed opportunities for expanding into other profit centers such as financial products and insurance services.

b. on brand was charged with developing a set of strategies to enhance the brand experience with an interactive visual merchandising program that invites customers to discover and connect with the brand beyond just cashing a paycheck.

Key to our strategy was to identify a strategy for activating each of the customer journey touchpoints with distinct, solution-oriented experiences that showcase the brand’s spirit of partnership in the customer’s goals. A series of conceptual designs and zoned activity spaces served to illustrate the brand’s potential to be an anticipatory partner rather than solely a reactive one.

Key concepts of our design were included in the initial prototype that was implemented in 12 cities.
