With its tagline of “Never stop exploring,” the World’s top outdoor brand keeps exploring its customer commitment with a new approach to retail, designed to champion individual achievement and product performance.

Remember when people made their own trail mix? When skis were made out of wood? We don’t either. When faced with developing a new retail prototype, the North Face knew that modern exploration requires a modern approach to retail.
WHAT WE DID

Partnering with Gensler Architecture and Design, b. on brand surfaced new opportunities for an outdoor retailing model with a series of best practice case studies as well as tactical solutions for how the brand could be experienced with new technology, expanded customer services, and market localization.

Key to b. on brand’s approach was an emphasis on discovery, exploration, and community with in-store activities and workshops, online, and social media, RFID technology and a built environment that celebrates the brand’s product authority. Our goal was to underscore the individual customer’s ability to embrace new challenges and the North Face equipment that helps them do that.
NOTEWORTHY
North Face continues to transform its retail environments using the final specifications and design signatures developed by Gensler, Stores engage both loyalists and novices alike with stores that invite exploration and the shared experience.
